Our Model:
ICCRS Upper School Program empowers our students with a dynamic team-based program. Our hands-on approach cultivates collaboration, critical thinking, and creativity. Students are clustered into two teams: the Blue Team, made up of grades five and six, and The Gold Team, made up of grades seven and eight.

This unique structure provides continuity and team building that cultivates deeper teacher-student relationships, supporting both academic and social-emotional development. A two-year loop in upper school with dedicated STEM and Humanities teachers builds a cohesive and supportive classroom community, enhancing students' sense of security and belonging. With specialized teachers focusing on STEM and Humanities, students receive more focused and integrated instruction in these critical areas, further enriching their educational experience.

Three teachers for each team support student learning:

  • Our Humanities Instructor guides student learning in English Language Arts and Social Studies. Students build knowledge by tackling and engaging complex text, creating and refining written communication, and diving deeply into an inquiry-based research process.

  • Our STEM Instructor helps our students see the connection between Mathematics and Science. Students build proficiency and knowledge through a blend of inquiry-based investigations, problem-solving strategies, and interactive experiences to empower students to think critically, write logically, and argue effectively.

  • The Religion Instructor plays a pivotal role in nurturing both spiritual and cognitive development. By merging the teachings of faith with critical media analysis, students gain a deeper understanding of their beliefs and the world around them. This holistic approach encourages thoughtful reflection, empathy, and discernment, fostering well-rounded individuals equipped to navigate a diverse and interconnected society.

Our Approach to Learning:

  • Our middle school learning approach seamlessly integrates research-based, project-based, and blended learning strategies. Students actively engage in hands-on projects that promote critical thinking, collaboration, and practical skills. Blending traditional instruction with digital resources enhances their educational experience, catering to various learning styles.

  • This dynamic approach empowers students to explore subjects deeply while gaining proficiency in using modern tools. By fostering curiosity and self-directed learning, we prepare them for the complexities of the 21st century, nurturing their intellectual growth and ensuring they become creative, compassionate builders of the future.
