TECHNOLOGY
At Immaculate Conception Catholic Regional School, our technology program integrates cutting-edge resources and innovative teaching methods to create dynamic and personalized learning experiences. From our state-of-the-art Innovation Center to our robust Media Arts, Robotics, and Computer Science programs, students engage in hands-on activities that foster creativity, critical thinking, and technological proficiency. Our curriculum also emphasizes digital citizenship, productivity, and coding, ensuring students navigate the digital world responsibly and effectively. This comprehensive approach develops essential 21st-century skills, preparing students to thrive in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Technology Intergration
Teachers use a station rotation model to engage students and personalize learning experiences with various technological resources, including Promethean boards and devices like iPads and Chromebooks. In Kindergarten and Grade 1, a two-to-one iPad setup promotes hands-on exploration, while Grades 2 and 3 use a two-to-one Chromebook arrangement for accessing digital tools. Grades 4 through 8 benefit from a one-to-one device deployment, fostering individualized learning and digital fluency. Students transition between collaborative group work with interactive boards, independent learning on digital devices, and teacher-led instruction. This approach creates a dynamic, inclusive learning environment that supports confident, lifelong learners equipped with essential 21st-century skills.
Media Arts
Students immerse themselves in all aspects of digital media arts. Whether crafting their own films or designing their own animations, they write scripts, storyboard, cast, and act in their own productions. They also edit their projects, creating sound and special effects using Adobe Creative Suite and Final Cut Pro.
